Timken Aerospace Drive Systems (ADS) uses exhaustive inspection and measurement techniques, as well as decades of engineering and manufacturing experience to fully evaluate each piece of equipment that it overhauls and repairs (O&R). This is the foundation of our total lifecycle support solution. From the first installation and through all major overhauls during the aircraft’s life, our goal is to return the equipment to “as new” status. Our customers demand it. We demand it.
The ADS team of highly trained technicians, engineers, inspectors and assemblers understand rotorcraft equipment at a granular level. Furthermore, ADS has an extensive OEM supply chain network that helps ensure technical compliance and on-time delivery. Working together, we give customers the data they need to make informed decisions before, during and after completion of the overhaul.
Once the new or repaired components are ready – including housing rework if needed – the gearbox is reassembled and load-tested to simulate actual flight conditions. The testing is rigorous and measures bearing end play, tooth contact, backlash, temperature, and sound and vibration levels, among other criteria. The units are then painted, preserved and sent back to the customer with full documentation, resulting in an extraordinarily reliable product.
The list below is representative of the critical equipment we have successfully overhauled for many years. But at ADS our quality program is all about continuous improvement. That is why we sought – and have now achieved – AS9110 quality certification. At the end of the day our goal is to offer the most advanced aftermarket O&R capabilities in the industry. Continuous improvement is not just words, it’s action.
